think about the things thing that are happening cops beat homeless man to death for no good reason cops fire and light former officer on fire for reporting abuse and killing other cops later we are fighting more than one war we dropped bombs on innocent people in world war 2 economy is screwed up according to history people rebel against that

just some of the things that have happened what is your thought?

I do not think the government will become the enemy. Its not like I haven't done research.I have done research. But I still think the answer is no. I think that in unbalanced times such as we are living, the government has tried to take some radical steps to right things, and there are those who would see fit to interpret some of those decisions as decisions solely for the unnatural control of the citizens, but I do not believe it is so.This administration inheretted more of a mess than any other, yet no one accused the previous president of too much control. Meanwhile,Mr.Bush was pulling deals you wouldnt believe. He left wealthy and now we are cleaning up his mess.Don't stop believing in the President. He is doing his best in a bad situation.

reasonable answer and i an admit that truly
Report as
KittySusca- Tell me the name of one president that didn't leave the white house a wealthy man! What is that supposed to prove? That Bush was corrupt? That Obama is some kind of saint? Isn't Obama wealthy? Won't he leave the white house wealthy? Every new president inherits problems. No president makes all the right decisions. Obama has done more to curtail our constitutional rights than any other president in recent memory.

I don't think so. the US has not even gone CLOSE to what other countries did that involved a civil war. The US hasn't nearly gone as far as what Syria and other modern day civil war countires has gone to. And if we did, their will have to be a "rebel" army building up that have opposite views of the country (like the confederates during the American civil war). Currently, we won't have a civil war, but if things get way out of hand, maybe. The great depression had much harder conditions then what we're facing now, and their was no rebels throwing out the governement. So i doubt it

true true but what about the harsh beating to death kelly thomas incident true about the great depression I like what you said there
Report as
People were different during the Great Depression. They thought differently. The government was different. People were much more willing to sacrifice of themselves for the good of all. People are much more self-centered now. As long as they feel that their little piece of heaven is safe they won't get off their butts and do anything. Then when everything starts to hit the fan there's going to be a lot of people standing around playing the blame game and looking for someone else, probably the government, to fix it for them.

i can agree with the us killing there was a rogue cop who was fired for filing a report against and officer and they finally got him trapped in a cabin and light him on fire instead of trying to arrest him i think that they went for blood there

the human race? yes! but us the people it depends on your view i suppose i don't see the government being a victim so far

The government a victim? Hardly. I'd say the opposite is true...the government is the worst kind of abuser, using its' position of power to intimidate and control the very people that it's supposed to serve and protect.

Report as
It's happened many times before.
Report as
what in the world makes you say that?
Report as
Really? How many times had our government "turned" on us?
Report as
Not our goverment countless other goverments
Report as
But the thing about our goverment is, they have a well armed society to deal with. So it would be highly unlikely
Report as
Highly unlikely anyway... Too many branches. They can't agree on minor stuff, what makes you think they could get together for anything major?
This rampant paranoia is just dumb
Report as
Like I said highly unlikely but possible.
Report as
If you don't think that our government has turned on us (U.S. citizens) then how do you define the total lack of action for at least ten years concerning illegal immigration? How about Washington SUING ARIZONA for trying to rein it in a little considering how much it negatively affects us? How about trying to pass new gun control laws that will do nothing to keep weapons out of criminal's hands but will instead tie the hands of law-abiding citizens? I could go on but I think you get the idea.
Report as
Illegal immigration has actually dropped since the economy crashed. Feds during Arizona because they have gotten ridiculous. Their ideas reeked of the nazis.
As for taking our guns? Please stop with the nonsense. Nobody is taking our guns. If you stop and think, it's not even possible, there are too many floating around out there.
I will repeat, yet again, Obama signed ONE piece of gun legislation in his first term... Allowing guns to be carried in national parks. Real scary, isn't it?
Report as
Those democrats have to open the borders to get new voters, becase the original ones are simply dying out/not having any kids. They won't be able to vote when they open the borders, but mark my words the onslaught of bleeding heart liberals will just "how can we do this to these people?"
Report as
And I guess Arizona is slaughtering Mexicans now to, like the nazis
Report as
Please show some sense... Stopping people on the streets? Having to carry your ID at all times? Getting stopped just because you look different?
All dates back to nazi germany
As for dems dying out?
The radical right trying to hijack GOP is turning many more people into dems, they don't need to open the borders (and nobody is). As long as GOP keeps fielding candidates like Bachman, Rick Santorum, Rick perry, Gingrich and palin, dems are going to keep winning
Report as
No they put weasels like Romney out there that just lambasted, dems will keep winning. They need someone who will expose them for what they are
Report as
And the moderates have hijacked the GOP look into history they always haven't been a bunch of power hungry weasels
Report as
Romney became a weasel when he turned his back on his beliefs and pandered to the right. As for moderates hijacking the party?
Please. Not in the history of GOP has there been a group that took such pride in their ignorance as the tea party.
When the grownups take back the GOP those of us that left will come back.
Report as
I'm not referring to tea party I'm referring to real republicans not these push overs we call moderates they don't work we have had two moderates run and they both lost and put huntsman out there and he'll lose to. When you have a candidate that doesn't even get there party's base excited, your not getting anywhere. And about people like you, your so few and far between these candidates need to stop worrying about you and get there base excited. I might add over 30,000 always voting reps diddent even vote for Romney
Report as
No, GOP did not put out 2 moderates. They put out McCain which was great and then booby trapped him with palin. They put out moderate mitt who twisted himself into pretzel shapes backing away from any moderate view ANC trying to appeal to right wing
GOP has lost many moderate GOPs and independents, they've given us no place to go but dem
Report as
There are always options...Independent maybe? The two top parties are both seriously flawed from the top down. But neither of them has our best interests at heart.
Report as
If you think about it, you have to be an egotist to consider running for office... So guess what we end up with?

Aint the government allready the enemy?? Taking away guns, hiding so much from us, and taking out money in taxes!

Nobody is taking guns
All governments hide some things
Taxes have been around for a long time and pay for common needs like roads, cops, firefighters, teachers, schools, national defense, etc
Report as
They are tryin but failing miserably
Report as
the taxes i think are needed but we did have a right to bear arms and the government actually has permission to shoot us for trespassing and they have raided houses near area 51
Report as
boo153- Just because "all governments hide some things" doesn't make it right. The United States was supposed to be different....for the people by the people, freedom, transparency....all of that stuff that would make us strong and unique. We weren't supposed to be like other governmemts.
Report as
Stry, sorry, by the people, etc does NOT mean they have to publicize everything. That would be ridiculous and open too much up to enemies
Report as
Ent, Area 51? Give me a break. As for trespassing, I am allowed to shoot you for it too.
Report as
Down here in the great state of Texas you can shoot someone for tesspasin to
Report as
Texas is just weird but normal states have it too
Report as
boo153- some of the things that the government keep from us is unconscionable. Medical testing on prisoners, orphans, minorities? How long did the Viet Nam veterans have to wait before our government ackknowledged that many of their medical conditions were caused by the Agent Orange that the U.S. used to destroy foliage? How many of our own soldiers died before that (from the Agent Orange)? How about bringing Nazi soldiers over to the U.S. to utilize their scientific abilities? Should that not have been made public? I realize that there are some things that "common" people don't need to know. I just can't think of any right off hand.
Report as
Because something "new and fabulous" turns out to be not so much does not mean that the government is out to get us.
At one time the best scientific minds thought there was no harm in above ground nuclear testing, we thought there was no harm in pumping our sewage and chemicals into rivers. Currently, many say there is no harm in fracking...
If you expect any government to not make mistakes, you might start looking for Eden.
Report as
May I tell you Texas has one of the best economy's in America.
Report as
Bud, please research how much that "great economy" depends on federal $$$$
Report as
I am not talking about "mistakes" made due to old technology or information. I'm talking about deliberately hiding /lying to people because they know that what they're doing is wrong.
Report as
Yeah, yeah, yeah. This awful government is hiding ufos and probably Elvis.
You do understand WE are the government, right?
Can we now please return to reality?
Report as
Yea that federal $$$$ is pumping into CA (which has over a third of America's welfare recipiants) and there economy's sh**
Report as
And don't go off saying its getting better if you've lived there in last three years you'd know. And everyone's leaving one of the main places they go is Texas
Report as
Look it up. It is improving. Look up federal $$ spent in Texas too
Report as
WE haven't been the government for a very long time. Yeah, we elect people...people that lie to get into office. By the time their term is up the damage is already done. And running for office has turned into a sport open only to those with huge bank accounts. Our options lately have been pitiful. I'm not saying it's Washington's fault...it's the people's fault for their disinterest and blind trust. And not all people who don't trust our elected officials are whackos and while I don't take it personally I think it's slightly narrow-minded for a person to assume that. I'm not talking UFOs or Elvis sightings. I'm talking about real, widespread United States government corruption.

We already live in a country where the government no longer works for "the people". All the closed door meetings, secrecy, back door deals...They feed us whatever information they choose to. Most people choose to just blindly carry on with their lives as if everything were good. How many people do you know that vote? This country is so far away from what the Founding Fathers intended that it will take a full scale revolution for any real change to happen.

do you think that it is happening at the moment getting worse and worse some governments in history lasted as little as 300 years and thats around how long the US has been around another thing is that crop failure and wont playing god with our food be somewhat like that with almost no nutrients in it
Report as
The FDA already does so much to our food, cloning, additives, hormones...it's no wonder that with all the money that is put into cancer research there are more and more people developing cancer than ever.
Report as
Yes it is getting worse and worse but the thing about America that is different than most others. Is that the people are armed, that alone should keep the goverment in check.
Report as
You would think so but it doesn't do anything to slow down the corruption that goes on every day in Washington. A well-armed militia is only effective in certain circumstances. Some situations call for a less aggressive approach. People need to be aware of what's going on in their own back yards and be willing to speak out if necessary. There needs to be some cohesion so it's not a lone voice in the wilderness. People need to be aware of who they're putting into office when they vote. Less apathy would be a really good thing.
Report as
The FDA does nothing to food, they approve and disapprove things supposedly based on best evidence. The problem is everybody wants everything RIGHT NOW! So long term testing of consequences isn't happening. That's not a government plot, that's greed of pharmaceuticals, major growers/farmers and the US consumer who wants a magic pill for everything and wants cheap food.
Report as
If the goverment would just back away from that area it would be cheaper. And also subsidizing food makes it more expensive.
Report as
No, it won't get cheaper unless we loosen restrictions/rules.
I've seen pigs on so many steroids their bones bleach out and snap like matchsticks.
You don't like gmo but want the government to back out... You can't have both
Report as
Yes I'd like the goverment to back out of everywhere they don't belong.
Report as
And we've raised lots of pigs you can feed those things junk all there lives and they'll turn out the best pork you've ever tasted
Report as
No chemicals no nothin just scraps and corn, and stale bread and curdled milk
Report as
Perhaps the FDA does nothing to food but they are the ones who decide what can be done to food. Ever hear of any of the board members of the FDA that held interest in pharmaceutical companies? Can anybody say conflict of interest?
Report as
Of course there is a conflict of interest with some bug mostly it's not enough people, too much pressure to turn things out right now.
Yes bud, I know what you can feed pigs but if you think your "junk" is what's in the grocery stores, better rethink it.
Everybody wants cheap milk, cheap meat, etc so farmers/growers turn to gmos, steroids, etc so they can turn out more good quickly and not incidentally make a nice chunk of change.
Take the FDA out of the equation and you'll be pretty much crossing your fingers every time you buy food or meds. Remember hearing about snake oil salesmen? Read about people who died from some of those concoctions. We still have issues but that's because the FDA isn't allowed to demand long term testing.. 10 years or more
Report as
So how much is too much? How much money do you suppose changes hands between the FDA and the pharmaceutical companies?
