It may seem counter-intuitive, but make sure you get enough fiber every day. By keeping your fiber intake consistent and at a healthy level, your system will stay regular and you avoid many of the irritants which cause flare ups. The easiest and most consistent way to do this is by taking one of the fiber supplements containing Psyllium( Konsyl or Metamucil, for ex.). When you first begin using this you may find you have an increase in Gas, but your body adjusts within a day or two and you will feel MUCH better! Also avoid too much Dairy, Fats(fried foods), and take it easy on Beans(they do have fiber, but can be hard to digest). Hope you try the Psyllium and feel better!:-).
