Does boy scouts or summer camp grade kids and give homework like a school?

Like being graded on how well I made a specific craft like tie-dye shirts. Or going to bed as directed. Like if I was awake an hour after lights out, would I get a low grade for it?

No not at all. as far as Scouting. The only time you'd even be critiqued would be at a contest. Different art projects, physical competitions, shooting or archery competitions etc. The focus isn't on how good you are at performing different tasks. The main goals are to teach kids how to appreciate the environment, different cultures, working as team members, leaders & allowing you to take on responsibility. By respecting people, places & things you learn how to take care of your environment. Many kids today, especially those that live in urban settings have no idea how to act or react in the woods, up in the mountains or on the water. By putting kids in those strange environment they learn how to enjoy it & maintain it. People only respect things that are tangible, they need to see it, feel it & use it. Many kids that thought that they couldn't do things like rock climbing, white water rafting or just finding their way in the forest find themselves doing it. It instills confidence that you can do things & also lead.
