I have a friend who has been really depressed lately. I'm really scared. What can I do besides recommending treatment?

Ok so she is being really antisocial at school and all she acts way different around other people like acting like a completely different person. She is in fights with her mom all the time and it seems limekiln am the only friend she doesn't end up fighting with. Her mom and dad are terrified and don't know what to do. How can I figure out what's wrong? Heeeelllp meeeeeee!!!

Sit down with her and just have a heart to heart conversation. I have severe depression, but I don't use any meds. So I know first hand that talking helps a lot. Just you and her.

Just have her back. Maybe you could take her out for some positive experiences, get her out of the usual rut of life. :)

Try to cheer her up by doing what she likes, if she doesn't want to talk about it than just leave that to the side, and try to take her mind off of things and just have fun.

I give you points for caring.Try to talk to her yourself,if that doesn't work...talk to a parent,or trusted guardian or school official.
