How does a vaccine work

Report as

A vaccine contains a dead or weakened part of an infection-causing germ. Because the germ is dead or weakened, it cannot make you sick. When you receive a vaccine, your body reacts by making antibodies, which kill off the weakened germs. Read on about this from www.health.ny.gov/prevention/immunization/how_vaccines_work.htm.
