How I do I learn to focus on myself and nobody else?

I tend to get walked all over by people who I'm always there for. in the end I'm always left behind and treated like I'm nothing and have nothing. when it comes to myself I can't even keep focus on anything, for others anyway I always follow through. please help?

That happened to me once upon a time!
As i look back, i think God was telling me to lean on Him, and no one else!
I use to depend on my sister(twin) and at one time i thought i would not know what to dobif something happened to her. We'd talk on the phone every day(we lived a good distance away and were both raising families. She was struggling with lots of issues and we were always helpful.) I think resentment set in with her and she just suddenly turned on us- that was 10+years ago!
But the lesson i learned was worth it(kinda). I miss our old relationship, but i love my newfound relationship with Jesus more!

Focus on what Jesus wants from you. It seems like we are doing what He wants, but what we are doing is gaining blessing for ourselves. That s His way, kinda. But He will help you with yourself. Gby

one day, when the cheated u or whatever, go up to them and tell them this stuff
this is just the kind of person u r, don't worry about how much u want to make others happy, but make sure they treat u the same way. if ur friends rnt respecting u find some more that will, u r unique and not to be taken lightly
comment if u need more help

What do you look for in a friend? Do you look for the same qualities within yourself? They are there, you know. Start being your own best friend and put the other "friends" on the back burner for a while. Give yourself 21 days. Takes 21 days to break/in grain a new habit. Want you to read a book - "How to Be Your Own Best Friend". Authored by - Mildred Newman and Bernard Berkowitz. Short read, informative, and transforming. Good luck.

that used to happen to me last year, but i got over it in the summer. what i did was make a mental list of all the ppl who treated me wrong and think of all the bad things about them, like if they're obnoxious or annoying or self-centered, and i realized that i was a better person than they are. now i dont try to follow ppl anymore and i dont let anyone walk all over me

Well, you know if you DON'T take care of yourself, you will NOT be helpful to anyone else.

Love your neighbor as yourself is one of the most important teachings of the Bible. So in your case you have shown love to your neighbor and now want to focus on yourself. I think that is good. In the meantime I hope you can feel good about the things you did for your friends even if they did not react like you wanted them to. Be content with your good deeds and hold your head up high.

You have to stand back and say to yourself I AM NOT A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN, I AM A CHILD OF THE LIVING GOD! he always has time for us, all we have to do is talk to him, he will listen. You are someone, pray for focus. Don't let all those with a negative speech try and bring you down.
