I'm getting 4 PERMANENT teeth pulled for braces, will it hurt?

My dentist is going to use laughing gas, but I'm really scared! Help!

No worries if you're having the laughing gas (nitrous oxide). I had a tooth pulled a few months ago and had the gas; the worst part of the whole thing was the needle for the novacaine, and that wasn't so bad either. The noise of the tools being used was a little disconcerting, but the gas made it so I didn't really care. In fact, there was one point where I thought of something that really was sort of funny and would have laughed had so much extra stuff not been in my mouth. Do as the dentist or oral surgeon tells you after the extractions so your gums will heal quickly and well. You'll be fine.

I want to thank you for answering! You were a big help in this procedure! The needle felt like a pinch, and, well, I'm all good now! I've had my braces since December, and my holes have pretty much healed all up! Thanks for commenting!

Glad your procedure went well. Seems like a lot in life is like that -- we get ourselves all worried and then the thing we were so worried about turns out to be not so bad after all.

Oh yeah it will. I had 2 pulled and the anesthetic worked while I was there, but it did start to hurt after a while. Take your pain killers when you start to feel the doctors pain killers wear off. You will feel some discomfort and/ or pain. Hopefully you'll heal fast.

What happened? I gave the truth about what happens when teeth get pulled for braces and no one liked it? Okay, let me re-fraise my answer, it's gonna feel fantastic! They're yanking perfectly healthy teeth, root and all from your head and it's gonna feel great! Okay? Sorry to give a correct answer

Well, four teeth are still missing from my mouth! I basically had nothing to worry about. It healed up fast, except it bled all of the first night. I have my braces now, and, well, life's good! :D

It'll be fine with laughing gas! I had to full 4 teeth as well for braces~~ and I think the shots hurts more than actually having the teeth pulled.

Yeah, pretty much. It felt like a pinch, but when I got my teeth pulled it felt like... I don't know... Weird. The worst part was probably the shot. Now I have my braces, and the holes have automatically filled up! Thanks for your answer!

Ask your dentist about taking some Motrin/Tylenol before your appt. and make sure you keep up with the pain medicine they'll give you. When they put the gas mask on breathe deep! ;) You'll be fine!

Btw I have had shots before and it feels like a pinch it hardly hurts.
