If you go to Hell, you'll suffer. That's what Hell is for. Just as the rich man of Luke 16, you'll be TORMENTED IN FLAMES. A sinner closes his eyes in death, and the Devil has his soul to torment in Hell forever...
The Bible indicated that Jehovah is a God of love (1 John 4:8). In ancient Israel those who practiced pagan worship would burn there children to death. Notice at Jeremiah 32:35, “Furthermore, they built the high places of Ba´al that are in the valley of the son of Hin´nom, in order to make their sons and their daughters pass through the fire to Mo´lech, a thing that I did not command them, neither did it come up into my heart to do this detestable thing.”
Since Jehovah is a God of love, the idea of hellfire goes completely against who He is. As far as the condition of the dead at Ecclesiastes 9:5 it says, "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all." So clearly they are not being tormented. Additionally, at Acts 24:15, it states that there will be a resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in death.
