"The Day, The Week and The Weather" by Firehouse. Not that I can relate to it or anything, but it's about a kid seeing his dad walk out on his family.

Report as
Me too. I would be hard pressed to name an Eagles song I don't like. "You Never Cry Like A Lover" is pretty sad too. "Desperado" is one of my favorite albums of all time. There are some sad songs on that too. Sad but good.
Report as
Eagles were a great musical group, too bad they were such terrible band mates. Did you see Don Felder on the Jeff Probst show last week....great interview and stories.
Report as
No I didn't. It seems like really talented people with strong personalities clash with each other a lot. They were a great band, with or without Joe Walsh.
I liked the James Gang too.

Report as
your right. I wonder if writing that song had some kind of therapeutic value in regards to helping him cope with the tragedy. I bet it did.
Report as
I think it did to i mean theres nothing really wrong with the song its just painful to listen to
Report as
His music kept him from going back into the substance abuse cycle he had recently gotten out of.

:( SO Sad
Report as
Eric Claptons's Tears In Heaven is my choice also. Knowing his tragic story makes it a real tearjerker. Losing a child....... horrendous!

My vision gets blurry whenever I hear it. I almost hate that it is such a great song. Then I wouldn't hear it so much.

For me, it's "A Million Miles Away" by Rory Gallagher. Here's the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxiEMpcI83E

It's the essence of sadness and lost potential because Rory was such a wonderful performer and a kind and gentle man. He was also an awesome performer. He died of a MRSA infection at the age of 47 after receiving an organ transplant. Watch the whole thing. His short life mirrors the images on the screen. Please let me know how you liked it.
