Could Theseus have been a real person?

You can;t completely say that he was purely a mythological figure-as many findings now in Greece are leaning towards him being a real person. He was considered to be the founder of Athens.I will get back to you on this in a few hours stav

you can't deny he could have been real. stories (i won't call them myths) are sometimes based on real things. Theseus could have been a real person.

Yes A man who killed a minotaur with his bare hands is definitely real
Report as
im not saying that. though it's possible (you can't disprove it) the minotaur existed, Theseus was also seen as the liberator of Athens from Crete and King Minos (Minos could have also been a real person, you can't disprove it).

I wan't to ask you something, are you a christian?, or a catholic, or jewish. if so, you can't deny that a talking snake in a magic garden (eden) is more realistic than the minotaur, or the centaur, or various creatures in other religions or stories.

I don't care that's just what I thought I have freedom of speech

Besides they call it mythology for a reason the religion is dead
Report as
the religion isn't dead, their are thousands of people who practise it today, its still a living religion. and what did i say anyway?, of course you have freedom of speech.

In Greek mythology, Theseus was a real person who lived during the Late Bronze Age. The first references to the conqueror come from the Iliad and the Odyssey, the Homeric heroics of the 8th century B.C. You can read more about Theseus at http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/thes/hd_thes.htm.
