Why are conservatives so pugnacious in their discourse?
Are they aware that it will always fail to convince anyone? Or do they even care? Now, before any rabid conservatives cry "They started it!" I'd like to point out two things: 1) That's no excuse. You can be bigger than them, and that would only make your position more attractive. And 2) Regardless of who started it, there is no denying the Republican party is the party people associate with hate, pettiness, and tastelessness. I would cite the RNC performance of Clint Eastwood. Not only did his party members allow him to go on with that embarrassing, inappropriate, and awkward display, but they APPLAUDED IT! They thought it was great! C'mon! Also, look at Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, and Ann Coulter. Now look at Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, and Rachel Maddow. Which group makes you fear for their heart health? I am very aware that liberals say mean things too. But I have almost never encountered a conservative in the media or in person that didn't favor insulting of the ideas AND character of liberal citizens and political figures over debating their ideas. Why is that? Are they rage-aholics? And what would it take to make them happy?
