Is it possible to disable registry editing to prevent 100% of all viruses from changing your registry?

We'll... If your running a linux based platform viruses are almost Nonexistant... Unless your really good at python and assembly to disable ALL incoming packets from adding or removing anything from your registry, but sifting through the malicious packets and the good ones are a bit difficult.
~Windows was made for bug and worms. Linux was made for People.

I have heard a lot of good things about Linux. But what about compatibility, will it support software and computer games which clearly state they are only compatible with Windows. I have never ever in my life seen an apple software in stores, not since 1996, and I was very angry, because it didn't work on my pc.

I'm running on 100% ubuntu, no dual boot... nothing. I play age of conan, use photoshop, play world of warcraft. Any program that works on windows works on ubuntu. And if there's something you need to compile with windows, just pop open a virtualbox and wham bam its as easy as that. ANYTHING Mac/Windows can run... linux can run better. My advice, try dual booting and see how you like it before switching entirely.
