Whats up with the moon tonight?
IT'S IN THE WRONG PLACE IN THE SKY.
The moon actually rose earlier in the day, so it should have just set. That might account for it being in a slightly different location than what you were expecting. http://www.usno.navy.mil/USNO/astronomical-applications/data-services/rs-one-year-us
As of right now, the moon should be close to where it was last night. You should be able to see about 13 percent of the moon. It is currently in the waxing phase.
Interesting. I haven't noticed. How far off is it from where you think it should be?
Perhaps you are looking at the sky at a different time. It travels across the sky as the night progresses so it will be in a different location at different times.
