If your husband constantly yells at you and calls you names does that make him a verbal abuser?

about 30 minutes ago he told me to go and kill myself because he says that i ask him to many questions, ask for a dollar, just plain out want leave him alone

saddleup if you feel like you are being verbally abused then it is verbal abuse. It does sound like it to me, but you are the one that has to live with it. :(

it is so hard to get out due to the fact i draw a disability check and already have a ton of bills but i do want out i did look into hud but they told me it would be a years waiting list.
do you have any suggestions on how to cope with it by letting him know it dont bother me when in fact it does

If you have any girl friends go out with them. Spend some girl time or find a group(like a social group or even therapy group, or even try one on one therapy) just someone to talk to who will listen, so you can vent frustrastions, may make it easier to cope...or just walk away when he starts yelling, go in another room...dont argue..its just fuel to his fire..ignoore his butt

Yes... it sounds like verbal abuse to me ... just as devastating or more so as physical abuse. I liked Stranger Than Fiction's comments, maybe you will even discover some other options. We are all holding you in our hearts...

Is there even a possibility that he might let you leave, and give you some essential financial assistance?
