What should I do about this dog I'm asking for my girlfriend.

Well her dad don't like the dog. She's a pitbull Belgian malios wolf mix named ginger. Her dad was playing with.ginger and hit her to hard and she gave him a warning bite. Well now he hates the dog. And he wants her to give her up. She loves tht dog. Please help

You should never play rough or aggressive with that type of dog! It is her fathers fault! I was in a similar situation with my husband and he had to regain our dogs trust. He knows better now, and our dog hasn't bit him since. Of course her father has to be willing !

Why is he hitting the dog at all?? Sounds like it is all his fault. BUT... your girlfriend lives in his house... and to keep peace, she should get rid of it. Can you take the dog til she moves out and gets her own place?

Well you and your girlfriend should take the dog to obedience training, and the dad may get over it. Wolf mixes do have a higher tendency towards aggression and are actually BANNED in some places. I hope she checked the laws about it.

That's great, but there is still a natural tendency for more aggression than if she didn't have the wolf in her. Example? The fact that she gave your gf's dad a "warning bite" at all.

My girlfriend trained her tht

Then it was your girlfriend's fault for training a dog to bite a person. Really smart, and a quick way to a lawsuit and getting her dog seized by the authorities and put down when it gives the mailman or a stranger that "warning bite."

the warning bite don't hurt. She did not train the dog to bite.

Then please tell me what you meant by "My girlfriend taught her tht" because I interpreted it that you were saying that she trained the dog to do a warning bite.

It doesn't matter if it hurts. It doesn't matter if it breaks the skin. It doesn't matter if the dog "loves kids." All it takes is just ONE growl at the wrong person and the dog can get labeled as aggressive, seized, and quarantined. So obedience training is very, very important.

You also never mentioned if you had checked if you are required to have a license for this dog.

Well explain to the dad that she loves that dog and he needs to not hit the dog because it was his fault the dog bit him and that its a dogs nature to protect its self

Well, the father sounds like he knows nothing about dogs, and that's a big dangerous dog if mishandled. Maybe you can take it or you both can find a nice home for it. Comfort your girlfriend, her dad sounds like he was rough for her to grow up with.
