I have 3 dogs that stay in the house. i have noticed my old dog has terrible breath.

it was so bad i thought it was something dead on the side of the road. he acts fine but as i said he is very old. does this indicate anything except he needs to brush his teeth? please be serious...i am concerned about my dog. can anyone help?

Take it to a vet and get the vet to check his mouth-

Well I'm sure you have had a tooth ache-
So you know it's painful
And if its infected
That would account for the bad breath

Now
Just get rid of infection
And the pain and bad breath will go away-
Ps- I've never met a dog that didn't have bad breath
Just not as bad as you described

It's probably something like gingivitis.

It's probably plaque buildup. I wouldn't worry unless it hurts the dog or unless the veterinarians say it's something harmful.
