The instant the mind is disconnected from the body, you're a goner. But, the mind receives signals from the body, it doesn't make them. Also, it sends out signals to the body to move. So, the body and mind are separate. If you want to think of yourself that way, then yes. But, the body is a part of us as well. It isn't someone else's body. It dies when it is disconnected to the brain as well, but it lasts longer, and different parts can be transferred to others. So, yes and no. It depends on what pov you want to take.

Depends on what level you are talking. There are quite a few diseases that attack the body, but not the mind. Look at Stephen Hawking who suffers from ALS.

My personal philosophical belief-- I think It depends on how old you are. I believe infants don't have soul but they have mind which is just a brain, like other animals have (but better and progressive brain which is able to perceive its environment better than other species). When they the grow old, maybe 6 or 7 or beyond (time where I started question the purpose of life), might be the time when soul starts to take its form which is separate from your mind. So your mind can't process itself or perceive your environment without body, unlike a soul that might be able to observe the universe, but I highly doubt mind itself can exist without body. The only certain way to know that is actually to leave your body (self-destruction)- I wouldn't recommend that. It could be one in a millionth chance that you are now where you are( you are the tiny part of universe who is lucky enough to express itself through a medium (amazing machine called human body).

You are a three part person, body, spirit, and soul. Your soul is your mind, will, and emotion, your spirit is the wonderful gift that gives your body life, the bible says that upon death God's word is as sharp as a two edged sword, seperating the soul from the spirit. its a subject that will keep you in study for days, try it.
