How do I not do this? (Please don't weird out)

Whenever I look at a stuffed animal, it feels like it's alive. I don't want to hurt it's feelings, even though I know it's not real, but I hurt their feelings when I neglect them. I don't even know why I think that way...but I do. Do I just have an overactive imagination, or something? The same goes for other objects. Throwing something away, even if it's a piece of junk, just feels wrong sometimes. I haven't really told anyone about this. Should I?

I feel like that sometimes about things that I'm about to throw away or give away. Like it has feelings or something I guess in which my mind can be so messed up at times because when I was little growing up I was neglected and abused. So therefore I feel awful for throwing objects away like it's going to feel what I felt especially when I give away a pet. I will come close to tears and just think and hope their be in a home where they get plenty of love and care like they should get. As goes for the stuff animal I don't know and have only felt like that when I was little using them as my support items if I had a favorite stuff toy animal I would hold onto it wishing I weren't in whatever situation I was in at the time being until I started introducing self harm into my life. Then stopped myself before I almost made the fatal dumb mistake of doing something terrible that would of not given me the opportunity to be here right now. Maybe you should get an appointment from a doctor and see about your health and for the way of how you think. It might be something like a disorder you have and if so then you need help RIGHT AWAY....

Maybe you should see a therapist if it's that big of a problem. And it depends on how old you are.

Don't worry, nothings wrong with you. It is probably just a bit of an overactive imagination. Sometimes I do that too. Nothing to worry about.:)

If it gets too large of a problem though, then talk to a counselor or therapist, or your doctor.

Yes, sounds like you have a wonderful imagination. Many people are attached to different objects due to an emotional connection. Hey just ask one of us grown ups to give up their phone for awhile. Hehe. I've had to throw out unhealthy plants before and I always feel bad about that. No worries.

I am exactly the same way. It's good to hear someone else talk about it.
If I'm at a store and a stuffed animal has fallen on the ground, I pick it up, brush it off, tell it I love it and put it back on the shelf. I worry that the stuffed animals on the shelves are lonely cause they don't have owners.
If I find a lost stuffed animal, I try to find its owner, and if I can't I take it home and wash it and give it home.
You and I are imaginative, creative, and sensitive. those are all good qualities.
If you ever get depressed see a psychologist. I have and it helps.

If you feel like its interrupting your everyday functioning, then deal with it while you are young enough to not allow it to impact your life. I think maybe you have a great gift of mercy & compassion, but atm it is focused on your little hugging toys, probably teaching you toward the future.
As for throwing junk out, learn to detach otherwise you'll be hoarding everything, from newspapers to empty tissue boxes to old broken things that DO have sentiment.
