It is important that the relaxer is being placed into hair as per the directions that come with the relaxer treatments. It is also important that the time frame of the product remaining in the hair is followed properly to receive the desired results. After relaxing the hair a product structured to protect hair from heat exposure should be applied and then hair should be blow dried on the cool setting to retain the straightened appearance, do not over dry the hair. The hair should now be dried in small sections and pinned up after each with a duckbill pin. There are many styles of flatirons. The best flat iron to straighten this hair type is a ceramic a good high quality flatiron will work best. The pinned sections are what you would work with now to flatiron. Start from the lowest point near the nape of the neck and straighten with the flatiron going on to the next section when straight. To maintain the straight look it is best to wrap the hair at night when going to sleep.
