A plugged fuel filter, fuel line or a clogged pickup screen inside the tank can starve your engine for fuel. The same problem can also be caused by a weak fuel pump, although fuel pumps typically quit altogether when they fail. Have the car inspected by a mechanic for proper diagnosis and repair.
Ever changed your timing belt? I bet its stretched and maybe even jumped a tooth. With a little bad luck it will break and your valves will hit your pistons if not chanced at the recommended interval. It's only a rubber belt like the one for your alternator and power steering/ ac and what not
