Someone did a good deed to help you...that's rare these days, the decent thing to do is pay them back. Work out a payment plan, do not leave them hanging.

A gift first!!! Sounds like they are trying to get back at you for something, keep your money >:O

A car is a very expensive gift. More like it was pay back at a later date & with splitting up that date has arrived.

That's a strange morality. Were they ever able to find you, I'd never buy for you again

yes there is two sides. the whole reason why they want me to pay them back now is because me and my ex broke up. before they said i didnt have to. i asked for advice and everyone said get everything in my name so i dont have to pay nothing to them anymore.

in that case..give the darn thing back..and let "them" deal w/any payment..and find a different way to get around..and "forget" them..who needs them anyway..

well the truck is already paid for. its them asking for the money. that was one of my options i could either give it back or i could put everything in my name so that legally its main and i dont have to pay a dime to them.

In this life we owe many people. Some for material gifts, some for spiritual gifts & some for confidence gifts & some for just plain helping us or having faith in us. You can take what isn't paid for. You can put it in writing that you own it but at the end of the day you know what's yours & what you have by default. I'd say this is on the default tab. No two ways about it.

mario,,i probably would want it in my name for ins purposes..but then..try to come up w/an amount that you can afford..and strike a deal..don't let their meanness..rub off on you..be a better person..than they are..

I asume we are talking about a car that is worth more than a thousand dollars. The way it's worded, I'm just wondering if his ex's parents bought the car & now that they have split up & no longer together they would like it paid for as the outlaw has the car.

If they said you had to pay them back then what's the matter with you not wanting to pay them back . Pay them back you shouldn't have to even question this

They put it in your name because they had faith in you that you would pay them back. And then it would be yours. Why would you do the wrong thing by someone who helped you. Karma will get you. Not a good way to pay back kindness. Just remember you Know it's not yours if you haven't paid for it. Cars don't grow on trees so why should you get a free ride.

I read the comments. I'd say have a good conscience, be the good indifferent guy and give it back. I would never want anyone (including myself) to think of me as needy or dependent on someone else's money. No thank you! What a shame though as for them... a true character is only revealed when it is scratched hard.
