Any event, major or minor that took place in the past applies to history as it is recorded as having occurred. The Industrial Revolution is held by most historians as having taken place from 1760 to 1840 and it was concentrated in the UK, the US and Western Europe.
Before the advent of the Industrial Revolution, people had to do stuff the hard way, hand tools and farming was the place to go if the industrial revolution did not happen who knows what the world would have been. hope this helps
Some would say that the 'Industrial Revolution' was the beginning of the End for Mankind. Machines replaced manpower and allowed us to destroy the world by mining, farming, and overpopulating the Earth beyond it's ability to maintain nature's balance.
