because some people have worked really hard to earn that money and others just waist it on drugs and bad things(not saying that all people spend their money on that stuff) cause honestly my family has worked hard for what they have and if some person who would only buy drugs with the money got like half of it for no reason I would kinda be really pissed
Yeah either that or you could actually go out and EARN some cash. But, what the heck, let's give it a try ... you go first. You didn't think it through, in your mind a doctor who goes to 8 years of medical school should make the pay as the fry guy at McD's.
Because that worked so well for the soviet union those who dont learn from the past are doomed to repeat it i also get the feeling you are probably unemployed and a hipster and obviously very uninformed
then their would be no drive to do anything. before welfare if u didn't work u didn't eat. I don't like the fact the government takes money and gives it to people I don't know. I think family should help family. not rely on strangers. keep working, cause millions of people on welfare depend on u! that's not how its suppose to be.
Ok. First off, that is called socialism. Second, the reason it does not is you assume the next guy will take care of it, so they lose motivation. For example, say 2 guys make tennis shoes for a living, and guy 1 makes about 5 pairs a day, but guy 2 makes 15 pairs a day, guy 2 realizes that he doesn't need to try hard because he won't get rewarded for better quality/quantity. Therefor, lose motivation
I work my tail off to get straight A's. You goof off and get an F. The teacher says "poor unfortunate Joe Blow, it's just not fair that he gets an F when you have an A! I'm giving you a C, that way Joe can also have a C.".
This makes it even, or "equal" as the politicians like to say, but it is not fair. Equal and fair are two different things
Because that would be unconstitutional and goes against freedom and everything this country stands for. Once again if you hate America so much fold your tent and pitch it somewhere else. You are unpatriotic and un-American. SMH, you are a disgrace to this country:
Because that is an idiotic method of implementing socialism. There are far better ways to do it, though in the end, socialism will always fail anyway. Besides, if everyone split there money evenly, the EVERYONE would be poor, it's how socialism works, you can't get around it, and no person with half a brain is going to agree to such an idiotic method. Capitalism is the fairest system on earth, In that it bases everything upon equal opportunity, instead of equal outcome as socialism does.
Fantastic Question! I have been wondering about YOU Americans the same exact thing ever since I came here. Have you found an answer yet? Let me help you. Because MOST American Citizens from Birth, I have happened to meet are rather LAZY!
America isnt what it used to be. As a country we are looked at as lazy! and that sucks for us hard workers because the people sitting on their ass all day are getting our money and living just fine off of it. Here are some more examples of why our country has become lazy... we go to the Middle west to get our oil..well gee that make perfect sense cuz we have Alaska with an ass load of oil that we cant dig into ourselves. Here is another one that you may understand better... we hire people from other countries, for instance China. they make a ton of things for us and we buy them. China definitely isn't in the same situation as the U.S. We could create soooo many more jobs here if we didnt lean on China so much! (btw this is nothing against China. actually china is smart and benefiting off the entire deal )
Okay there are a lot of uninformed answers here, while then again, it depends on what you mean by socialism/communism. First, in Marxian terms, socialism and communism are the same thing. Second socialism is a completely new form of society and social arrangements. It is the common ownership of the means of production. This entails the absence of money, government/state and class. Common ownership means that the entire human race will own the natural resources of the planet, the places where they work; the farms, factories etc... So this demands democracy to enable people to control these things and then to decide what to produce to fulfill human needs, as production is not for profit but for use, this is done on a global, regional and local level. People are then allowed to decide what ever they want to do with their lives and take as much as they need/desire, thus money is eliminated.

We could do that if enough people supported it with their votes, but it wouldn't satisfy anyone - not even the people who would gain wealth. This, or a variant of it, has been tried many times in history (Soviet Union, Red China, Greece, Cuba, etc). Whenever people have tried socialism work has been divorced from rewards. The result is that producers produce less (because they know they will keep less of what they work to produce) so there is less total production/wealth to be divided. This shrinking pie makes everyone poorer - except, of course, the government who decides who gets what, and grows increasingly larger - because it becomes the only avenue to a good life. You still wind up with a ruling class with the only way to beat the system being engaging in illegal activity. Finally the ruling class evolves into a group of lazy bureaucrats, instead of entrepreneurial producers. I suggest you read "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. It will help you to understand this better. As Margaret Thatcher said, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” That says it in a nutshell. I hope this helps.
When there is no reward for improving fellow man's life, little progress is made in man's plight to rise above simple survival. If Altruism was an inherent trait that people based their decision on 100% of the time, then maybe dividing everything up equally would somehow magically work. But that is not a universal trait that commands every human being's decision making to put out more effort to make something happen than others. By improving other people's lives, why shouldn't their take out of the post be larger..... amirite? see more opinions on http://amirite.com
