If you threw boiling hot water on a fire, would it put it out?

Report as

Water will always put out fire, regardless of whether it is hot or cold. Water puts out fires by reducing the burning material's temperature to below that which is needed to keep burning. See the details on indianapublicmedia.org/amomentofscience/cold-water-and-fire/.
