Are beagles too big to mate with chihuahua?

Just recently accepted a beagle into our home about 2 yrs old and he wants to mate with our chihauhau who is also about 2, but obviously the beagle is bigger. will he be too big in size for the smaller dog if they were to mate and have babies?

Yes the two breeds can breed, but why would you want to possibly loose your female by making her have puppies too big for her? There are enough dogs being put down at the shelter for you to need to endanger your chihuahua.

No they are not as long as your chihuhua isnt a puppy (:

No but the pups will ugly shaky howling digs that run away every time you let them loose

You can bread beagles and Chihuahua as long as both are mature and they have been tested by a veterinarian. You should choose Chihuahua that have gone through selective breeding so as to get the best results.

You should get both dogs neutered. Producing mongrel pups only increases the number of dogs that end up in shelters (and euthanized). The pups may be too large for the female to deliver and result in her needing surgery or worse. It is irresponsible to breed dogs if the pups are likely to be euthanized because nobody wants them.

Yes, they can, I'm pretty sure.
And to everyone that's saying they would be ugly, that's not necessarily true! I have a 2 year old beagle/chihuahua and he looks just like a beagle except smaller, and with slight chihuahua "features" on his face. Everybody thinks he's a beagle puppy.
