How can you tell if your 6 month old orange tabby is male or female?

We just found a stray orange tabby. I am guessing it is around 6 months. We are taking it to the vet in a couple days, and getting it a flea dip. How can you tell if it is a male or female? We tried looking at pictures online, but that didn't help much. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!(:

Turn the cat on its back. If there is something between its back legs it is likely a male. Two bumps below the rectum mean it is a male. Many orange cats are males. Coat color is a sex linked trait. Females can be orange and black while males are either orange or black.

It is a long haired Carson it is hard to tell... Do you have any statistics of how many orange tabbies are males bs females?

I do not have any stats on numbers of orange males vs females. But in my area I see very few orange queens. Black cats seem to be evenly split. You should be able to sex a cat by palpating between the back legs. If there is something there, it is likely a Tom.

You can tell if your 6 months old orange tabby is a male or a female by its behavior. The male tabby cats are more aggressive and often roam about in the neighborhood in search of a mate.

It is an indoor cat. Any other suggestions regarding behavior?

Other than looking at his private parts( by now if he his a male his testicles should be present). between 6 and seven months olds make cats Will start spraying urine on everything marking his territory. The only way to stop that behavior is to have him nuetered.
