Why does my cat suck on blankets and nest with his front paws
All of my "kids" do this as well. They knead as they did when they were kittens while feeding. It also means they are comfy and cozy. No worries, it's a natural behavior for them. Enjoy your weekend!
It's an old habit from being fed as a kitten by its mother.
I always heard either they were taken away from their mother too young or they are very very contented.
A cat will "nest" or what I refer to as kneeding dough to sharpen her front claws. She will do this even if declawed. It's an instinct. So is suckeling. She (or he) is doing the kitty equivalent of thumb sucking.
