Because too many Americans do not pay attention. They vote for things like the first black president and never look into what his plans are. Or they vote for Hope and Change without asking just what is it he wants to change. I wish people who say they hate politics would stay home on election day.
Most of us vote for my needs and my friends needs, and for sound bites, instead of analyzing what is best for the majority, long term, so we don't agree on what a "good" president should do. Worse those elected rarely follow though on their campaign promises.
Republicans vote for their party--Democrats vote for theirs--no votes for someone who might be able to do "THE JOB". All presidents have to fight Congress to be able to do things--if the majority of them are a different party than he is, it's a fight to the finish. Either way, the pres. is the fall guy
For the most part, our "over-bloated" Federal Government has become comprised of far too many power-stricken individuals who have no interest in anything other than the furthering of their own position. (with few exceptions) They haven't a clue what this country is about, as they believe it's all about them. They are "lost" in their own "self importance" - and, therefore, we are lost as well. Too bad cloning wasn't in effect when Ronald Reagan was still alive. There was a true leader.
Because we elect career politicians instead of true patriots with our best interests at heart. What we need is a good true solid conservative with the balls to stand up to these democrats head on and tell them and the American people the real truth and not worry about who does and doesn't like it and go from there. Instead of just telling people what they want to hear and lie to them like the guy we got now. You do realize he's campaigning in all 57 states for this election too??.... Right.... LOL
