Is it appropriate for born again christians to wear makeup ?

not too much but just for confidence ! ??

Report as

It isn't the make-up on your face or the tattoo on your chest that you need to worry about. It's what is in your heart Are you filled with pride or are you humble? Are you charitable and forgiving? Do you gossip and spread ugly rumors? Do you judge others? The two main commands are.....love God and love other people. When you love them, a little mascara doesn't hurt!

Rihanna, I'm going to ask you something tough. Are you serving God because of fear or love? If you love God and want to follow His word, that's awesome. But, I'm sensing a lot of fear in your comments. Think about this - if you live your life the best you can with love for others, do you think God will reject you eternally because you didn't get every little detail right? He knows the intent of our hearts. He knows if you are trying to do your best or not. He loves YOU.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind." II Timothy 1:7

thank you , but have you heard the testimonies of those people to whom God has shown hell and heaven . you'll find some of those in youtube . in those they are speaking of people whom they saw in hell ; and they are there not because of many sins that they did just because of one small sin God saw in them . Our God is loving at the same time a fire devours before him the bible says . for every word you say and for every action you will have to give an account on the day of judgement !

Yes, I've heard. I'm a member of an extremely conservative church and have been for years. I know that God holds us accountable. I know that if you sin one tiny little sin, it's the same as being guilty of them all. I know God tolerates no sin. Yet, does God want you tormented over everything?
If you are this upset and worried, then please do not wear makeup. It's bit worth it for you to be upset.

actually i was not against wearing makeup . but now i feel that if we are wearing makeup to look more beautiful , is it a way of insulting our creator who has created us in his own image .and whatever he creates is just beautiful !! i am not upset about makeup and stuff . needed to know what others opinions are

Well, I don't think it's a sin, but I do believe that you need to look holy before God. I think it's something you need to pray about. I know Christians who don't wear make-up, and I know some who do.

It is absolutely fine. I know many Christians who wear makeup and the Bible never claimed it was a sin.

Look, what is so holy about asking strangers, most of whom are teens, whether or not you should wear makeup? It's just silly. Wear makeup girl, if that's what you want. Has nothing to do with anything important.

A little makeup worn to build your confidence wouldn't be wrong in my opinion. Of course, if you choose to not wear it, that's okay, too!

Of course. Every Minister on TV wears makeup and pumps his hair. There was one who was like 90 and had black hair like Elvis.

Its just a lie from the enemy trying to already tell you you are not good enough to be a Christian, you are not good enough to be loved by God, Jesus will never accept you... The enemy will constantly try to drag you away from your walk with the Lord. Please let me pray for you: Dear Heavenly Father, I bring to you this born again child of Yours. Lord, the enemy is already lying to her, nipping at her. Lord I pray that You bind Satan from his lies right now! Thank you. In Jesus Christ name. Amen.

if the woman wants to wear makeup let her wear makeup if not alright. it's her choice she shouldn't let anything or anyone stop her from making her own decisions.
Report as
I didnt say any thing about her not wearing make up (or wearing it) I simply said the enemy is already giving her a hard time and prayed to bind Satan. I wear make up when I feel like it.

Good answer. I agree that the enemy is working her over about this issue.

don't matter how religious you are, you really shouldn't let the church or religion affect most of your life making decisions. If you want to do something but the church speaks against it, you need to say well you no what I'm not going to let anything or anyone tell me how I'm going to do things. If I want to wear make-up, I'm going to wear some makeup. don't let religion control your life. I am not religious. I believe in God, but I really don't have a main religion. I would be closer to Catholic. take this advice I f you want. if you don't oh well.

You're overt thinking things. There isn't anything wrong with makeup. It helps make your face look good instead of when you crawl out of bed. As long as its not being used to attract people, you're fine.

Just try not to look PHONY. Just make yourself look better than you do!
Sometimes we are the ONLY Bible people see! ( we dont want them to think Christians are phony just by the way we may look) right?

There is nothing wrong with wearing jewelry, makeup, or braided hair as long as it is done in a modest manner. A woman should not be so focused on her outward appearance that she neglects her inner spiritual life. The Bible focuses on the heart. If a woman is spending too much time and money on her appearance, the problem is that the woman's priorities are wrong. Expensive jewelry and clothing are the results of the problem, not the problem itself.
