Try to listen to them when you're alone. And make sure you tell them how much they mean to you. I once told my mom music has helped me a lot more than she has..

Don't count on convincing them.Your parents are older and wiser, and surely they know how things are. Be thankful they care. :)

As a mother who listens to rock channels and music, I wouldn't have a problem. But now your parents must not listen to anything of the sort. Just sit them down and have a mature conversation with them. They will respect that and see you differently. Maybe that will help. I actually seen them while they opened up for avenged sevenfold in 2011.

I would show your parents the Knives & Pens video. It's about bullying. Rebel Love Song might work cause it's a love song.

I'd just ignore them if they yell at you for it. It's music, and if it makes you happy that should be good enough for them and they can get over it.
