Both are very useful and necessary in our lives daily. For instance you have a 40% off coupon to Ko--'s Dept Store quickly you know without subtracting that you will pay $12 for a $20 blouse by multiplying $20 X the 60% that you will pay. You don't even need a calculator . OK that was dumb, but fun, & you will use this. On the science side you know why your chocolate cone melts faster in the sunshine than your vanilla cone so you stay in the shade or get ready to lick the chocolate faster.
IF you are turned off by math and science you may have had a teacher that was scary and didn't explain things well to you. They can be really neat subjects. We need more math and science majors in this country. How do I know? Most of my colleagues I have worked with are from other countries and every time I want to sign up for a simple service I am requires to read a book. The iTunes terms and conditions is over 20 pages, for example... more scientists, (and less lawyers with nothing else to do).
