People will look up to those who have qualities they admire. I can guarantee you that changing who you are will not make anyone look up to you. If you want to be unique, congratulations, you are. The unique people are the ones who accept who they are. If you "try" to be unique, you'll end up looking like everyone else, because so many people are also striving to be "unique". Enjoy who you are. Try to calm yourself if you feel like you're getting overemotional, and try to remember that not everything people say is meant to offend you :)
I#039;ve been a leader and a follower, and what comes to mind is common goal. The leader serves a purpose to some kind of common goal. So we can#039;t get or make a person want to follow us, we have to have something to give, something they want, even if it#039;s just leadership. Just a thought.
Find somebody in your field that's way cool and higher up than you. Example, I met a Blue Angles pilot and a Space Shuttle astronaut, I told them I want my kids to get into anything related to aero/space. Both of them sent my kids autographed pictures with encouraging messeges and handwritten notes telling them to "Reach for the stars" and whatnot. The kids went NUTS when they saw the pictures!
