How can I replace a missing car key

My car key has keyless entry on the key itself. The actual silver key part fell out of the keyless entry and is missing! Luckily I have the keyless entry piece with the chip in it. Is there any way to replace the silver key part? If so where and how much will it cost?

are y ou the original owner? If so the keys came with a little bar code tag. If you are lucky you saved it. That is the manufacturers code to make a new key. it costs about 30 to 50 bucks for a chip key. If you are not the original owner, maybe it is tucked into the manual. If not, the manufacturer should be able to make a key from the VIN. But that will take MUCH longer.

You need to go through your dealership. How much will depend on the car. It's been years since I priced them and then it was about $25.

Contact your car dealer that sold you the car. If it was a new car sale they should be able to track the key used. Didn't you get an extra key when you bought the car, if so the dealer should be able to get you a copy!
