Faith is only as good, as valid, as beneficial as...the object of that faith. If you mean faith in someone outside yourself, the only worthy object is really a Person, the Person of Jesus Christ. Verses from the Bible on faith are Romans 10:17--says faith comes from the Word of God; Ephesians 2:8,9--says faith in Christ brings salvation (which is peace w/ God and forgiveness); also says faith is actually a gift from God. So as you ask God to give you faith and read His Word, which is trustworthy, your faith will grow. It is not suddenly there; it grows. Faith itself must be better defined. Biblical faith means trust, reliance, committment. It is not walking on thin ice when the sign says "Danger". It is walking on thick ice, but not knowing whether it is thick or thin other than a sign written by God's Word that says "Safe." The Word is only as trustworthy as the One Who wrote it. God is trustworthy.
