Sponge can be compressed easily so why do we call sponge as a solid?

nothing

Report as

As per definition, a solid has a finite shape, while liquids take the shape of container. Since a sponge has a finite shape, it best fits into the solids category. If you don't exert any external force on the sponge, it will have the same shape, so it is a solid.
