Why do people tend to "torture" themselves with somber music when depressed and agitated rendering them feel even more corrupted?

Because this is what I'm doing to myself at this particular moment feeling so loon and putrid. What can I possibly do to perish bad thoughts and exhilarate?

Get out and go for a walk. Go to a gym, get any kind of exercise. Exercise produces endorphins which are mood enhancers. It is taking that first step that is hard, but once you get going it gets easier and you feel better.

It ok to sulk over something for a little while, so listen to sad music and get it out of your system, and then get up and get moving.

By supporting the reality of the feelings they are having at the time it can help them to deal with the realities they are experiencing and then to recover and get back to normal.

People use sad song to feel like they aren't to only ones suffering.
To get rid of that feeling try this:
1. Listen to an upbeat epic song preferably one without lyrics.
2. Read a good book with a happy ending.
3. Go for a hike in the wilderness.
