What is your level of embarrassment when you realize you've misspelled a word incorrectly on an important paper (or Ask :-))?

I recently asked a question regarding a job and misspelled a word... my stomach jumped when I realized my time to correct was way overdue. We are anonymous here, but what if you did this on an important job application, how embarrassed would you be? Do you think auto correct can make us look silly, illiterate, or both? lol

Of course it's best not to have errors in a job application -- that scarcely inspires confidence in an employer -- but all of us make mistakes from time to time. I'm a pretty good speller but sometimes I can't believe some of the things I type.

It's not a big deal on Ask but you can overcome it by taking the time to read what you've written. You have 15 minutes for editing after you post.

There's no Ask spell checker available for the comments threads but if you use an add-on called After the Deadline with your browser you can check those too.

But embarrassment? Nah. We all do it. Why worry?

Haha, I feel a little better. I misspelled regarding as "regaurding" that looked really bad :-) Oh well. I am not the best speller and I sometimes get anxiety stricken when I loose my spell check and have to write a short essay for a job interview or something similar. It's terrible!
