Why does the washing room in my house smell like gasoline?

When I woke up today I sat down in the living room and I smelled the aroma of gasoline. I went into the room where the laundry is done and the smell was stronger! What can this damage? Whats causing this scent?

Do you mean the smell of natural gas, the kind of gas used for heat, stoves, etc..? Or, as you did type -- "gasOLINE"..?
Can't tell you WHY you smell it (either type of gas), but I can tell you this much:
Do NOT light a match/lighter, don't even flip a light switch.
OPEN ALL your windows & doors to air out the gas, then find the source of the smell... IF it is gasoline. Could be coming from an open gas container, the sort used for lawnmowers, or something like that...
IF it is natural gas you smell, CALL your gas company IMMEDIATELY!! There could be a gas leak which has the potential to blow up your home & the neighbors homes, too. Natural gas explosions are no joke -- get someone there ASAP to find & fix the leak, IF that is what you're smelling. If it is gasoline, find the container it's in & move it outdoors.

CHECK THE WHOLE FREAKING HOUSE! I'm not even kidding somebody might have had intentions on catching your house on fire with you still in it. Alive and while sleeping possibly awoken up to getting your but heated and lighted up. Afterwards you would be well done and gone. And if find a person who was trying to catch your house on fire please beat the living holy hell out of them....

DANGER ! . . . . As per the above answers , NEVER FLIP A LIGHT SWITCH , PLUG IN OR UNPLUG AN ELECTRIC CORD ! This creates a spark that can very easily cause an explosion and by doing this alone , IT HAS caused an explosion , If the light(s) are on , LEAVE THE SWITCH ALONE ! NEVER STRIKE A MATCH OR LIGHTER OR SMOKE A CIGARETTE ! , OPEN ALL THE WINDOWS , EVACUATE THE HOUSE AND ESPECIALLY , CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IMMEDIATELY !!!! , DON'T DELAY!!! , If you can't locate where that smell is coming from , The fire department will be able to trace it , If the smell is natural gas , It smells like rotten eggs and if so , Call the gas company besides the fire department , ALWAYS PUT SAFETY FIRST!!!
