Is the only way to get electricity is from turning wire or copper between poles of a magnet?

Are there other ways or is this the only way?

There's the piezo effect - that is what lights up the LED on those kids shoes when they walk. Also batteries of course generate electricity from chemical reactions.

Rub a balloon on a sweater and hold it an inch or so above your head. Static electricity.

True, when I read the question I was thinking about delivery methods (cable) not the generation of electricity, which now that I reread the question seems to have been the point :-/
