What is the best way to cope with stress?

i have been stressed to my max recently, and some family problems are occurring between me and my mom, and i started to cut and smoke too because of it. PLEASE HELP!! i dont like what im becoming

Praying to Christ. That works amazingly well. Try valerian root it works like Valium on the brain and it's where it got it's name. Kava kava helps also. Please don't cut. Do other things to take your mind off it and talk to your mom!!!

Goodness, I don't even know you and this upsets me. One of my best friends cuts a lot, I was her "therapist" for a while, but obviously I haven't got a degree and couldn't help much. I do know a thing or two about stress relief though, things I've taught myself. Become as close as possible to every family member that's still in the picture. Your friends, partner, teachers, they can all provide you with care and support if you open up to them. Trust me, opening up willingly, on your own, can take a lot of the stress off. Having a dog or cat can help as well, as stroking an animal can ease tension and they will know when you are stressed and come to you. Squeezing a stress ball, hugging a teddy bear, reading a good book and calling loved ones can all be healthy alternatives when you feel like cutting yourself. You need to know that your mother still loves you, but don't force yourself to talk to her, as this can increase stress and cause ulcers. Embrace your religion, know that whatever you worship will watch over and protect you. I genuinely hope that even if I can't help my friend, I can help other people, including you.

When i'm stressed i listen to music alone in my room, and just lay down with the lights out and music playing, it always helps. :)

Hit the gym up. Try new things you never done before and i'm not talking about drugs either. Just remember that somewhere out there, there's a poor soul who has it worse than you and I combined.

Everyone has his own way to handle stresses, I like to do some exercises, running or dancing, sing till feel tired; have a good sleep or just read books, listen to music. Anyway, just escape from your troubles temporarily and move on when you are ready.

just face up the problem and solve it, so that you can put it down. I think there is no problems can not find out the solutions, so , don't avoid of it , finding the solution.

this is a tough phase man but think about it like this in movies in the beginning its all fun and games then the main character makes a mistake so he must face many obstacles and in the end of the movie things are better the problem is solved and its actually better than the beginning because your experience grew and now you actually have more value on the thing you lost and got back

I used to have the same problem, I know how much of a b**ch it is to stop but if you've got something you like to do or someone who's close to you then talk to them or do whatever it is that you enjoy. I used to play lots of sports and playing the guitar and writing songs worked amazingly to get me out of those depressive moods or whenever I was stressed. If you like reading, read, if you like writing, write, same with drawing or whatever you like to do :) Plus of you've got a mate that's close to you try talking to them, you don't have to spill your guts to them, just start a conversation and talk to them. They'll cheer you up without even knowing it :)

Try to talk to you're mom. It's Hard like hell everyone knows it but it's mostly the only way you will stop. If that doesn't work then Tell someone about the problem where it all started and ended. You have to be stong! You can do it or at least try to do it. Make her understand. Or the other one you talk to about it!. Tell her everything i promise you will feel alot better! TRUST ME!

slash and burn -- just kidding -- 'cutting class' and 'smoking' are only going to hurt you in the long run, so try to quit both. Spending quality time with friends and relatives is really important if you can't confide in your Mom. I went to high school in a big city and there were so many different types of people it was hard to get worked up about my folks. Maybe go away for college (if you're not there already?)!

Listen to music, that's what i do....Black Veil Brides have helped me with their music look them up, when u get upset scream along with Andy....need more help tall to me :)

Does cutting yourself make a difference? Nope. Does smoking make a difference? Nope. You should talk to someone that can help you. Inflicting harm to yourself will NOT do anything except, HURT you and make you WORSE.

I think the best way to cope with stress is by talking to your friends and adorable who enhance your life. Eliminate the topic of the gossip that stress you out. Include rest and relaxation in your daily schedule. Make time for leisure activities that bring you joy and fun, whether it be stargazing, playing the piano, or listening music. Keep your sense of humour alive.

I think the best way to cope stress is to forget about all your problems. Take a long bath with music that you like and just think through your problems. Find the solution around them by talking to the person/people who are stressing you out and tell them Whats happening. Write your problems on a piece of paper and shred it up.

i used to cut as well. that does not solve anything. that only hurts you. and makes the people around you worry about you. you need to talk to someone about it.

i used to cut also. and when my parents found out they put me in therapy at first i didnt want 2 go but now im glad of it. i also found out that if i tell my parents that i need to go and cool off 4 a little while, go into my room, close the door, lie flat on my bed, then just plug in my iPod and listen to some music with my eyes closed. it works 4 me every time. maybe u can try it and it might work 4 u. :)
