To view ringworm fungus under a microscope, can I use black ink from a sharpie marker to stain the sample?

Better to use KOH and cotton blue. Google "ringworm staining methods"

Be careful, Ringworm is a nasty zoonotic fungus

Thanks for the google lead. Yea its a nasty one - this sample will come from my own skin....

I'm looking for a home-made DIY solution...

Also articles on the KOH test specify the use of KOH and no substitutions.
