By definition, scientist's have agreed that nothing is faster than that. However, they think space is curved, like a saddle (space is the saddle) , and we can "jump" off of the saddle to another point on it. Since light must travel along the saddle, it would seem that we would travel faster than the light that had to go around, ftl travel.
according to Einsteins Theory of Relativity, nothing, that obeys the laws of physics as we know them, can travel faster than the speed of light. certain things can be accelerated near the speed of light, but not past.if anything were to travel faster than the speed of light...we dont know what would happen exactly, but it probably would break something.
Well interesting tidbit, everything is faster than the speed of light. The universe ( the observable one) is, at it's edge, moving about five times faster than the speed of light. So objects as they increase in distance from us move faster than they did before. If we changed our perspective properly then the earth and everything on it would be going faster than the speed of light. Although at that point because space it's self was moving the speed of light would increase as well... So nevermind.(:
Anything faster than light is just speculation at the moment. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, faster than light communication is equal to time travel. So, maybe if you wait around in London for a while, you can hitch a ride in a blue phone box and go faster than light.
