My answer is perfectly relevant, you just don't want to do your own homework. The Wrights needed to overcome gravity by understanding how a wing generates lift, how forward momentum contributes the the asymmetrical distribution of air pressure over than wing, and how an object heavier than air can fly. If you had studied them at all you'd know they also had to overcome the obstacles of people telling them what they were attempting was impossible, not to mention the technical challenges of inventing control surfaces, landing wheels, etc.. If you can't see the basic issues involved with their experiments, then even if everyone here gives you all the answers, you won't know how to write a report on it anyway. You really should learn to do your own homework- and Google is your friend.

I might also point out that if the Wright brothers adopted your laziness and asked their friends "Hey guys, this is really important- how do I build a really cool flying device - I need answers quick- I have a test on this tomorrow" that they would not have developed skills like perseverance, vision, and experimental rigor, all essential to creating a new idea in a world entrenched in its impossibility and impracticality :-)

:-) Thanks Sinful-- sarcasm does not always translate well. I am not trying to be mean, but seriously- do you think you're going to get an 'A' report without even trying a little bit?? If you are not able to even piece together the basics, you don't deserve an A. I forget that most people here are very young and don't take constructive criticism well- or even at all, but the point of doing a report is to LEARN SOMETHING, not to get an ANSWER.
It is sad to me because I am both a teacher and an engineer, and I see this as cheating- not only because you are not doing your own work, but more importantly because you are cheating yourself of the opportunity to learn about 2 extraordinary individuals.
I passed all my classes in a world before computers, as did the Wright brothers. That you are focused more on 'I need the points badly' than on learning something is a clear indicator that you are missing not only the joy of learning, but the entire purpose of the lesson. Maybe if you fail and have to repeat the class, my advice will make more sense. I'll close it here. I really want you to get a good grade0 but that means understanding the question, not having the right answer! Clearly, you do not yet understand the question...

I am glad you are working hard- Don't take it as mean, I just want to challenge you to do your best. I already passed all my classes, so I HAVE done it- (and I did it without computers and the Internet). I know how to research a hard subject, and if you learn that from doing this report then even if you don't get an A, you will have a skill that is much, much more valuable in the real world; knowing how to look at a problem, decide what are the important elements, and then do what you can to address them! Good Luck with your report. Come back and tell us how you did.
