Depression is a tricky mental illness that effects both the mind and the body. The typical symtoms are: feeling sleepy all the time, feeling heavy or sluggish throughout the day, lack of enthusiasm, feeling ill, lack or lessening of energy, lowered sex drive. The extremes can be anywhere from self harm or suidicidal thoughts and actions. If you experience any of those symptoms see you family doctor IMMEDIATELY and request a recomendation to a therapy clinic if your family doctor cannot come up with a sufficient solution or determine possible causes. You will probably have to get blood work or go get some other tests in case these symptoms are results of other underlining factors. If you are diagnosed with depression, mania, etc... you can only surely have the probleme resolved through counceling/therapy and to extreme measures, medication to help you in the healing process. Self diagnosis is dangerous and I emphasis the need to go see your family doctor. Coming from someone who's been there, is there and never wanted to be, see or feel that way. Good luck to ya!
Look at the bright side of the things in everyday life. Don't see the glass as half empty. If you look at the negative things people will notice and not want to be around you but when you look at the positive things your life will get better.
It depends on what kind if depression you have. Some situations can depress you but will eventually go away. If you are talking clinical or chronic depression you need a doctor. They will give you medication to help.
I have been depressed a lot in my life and one thing that really helped me is doing something that I love that I can see my results in positive ways. I have been helping younger children with school work. I can see my effort going to good use and being around people I have bonded with makes me happy. When you love doing something that is positive for not only you but others, do it often.
Other things you can do is listen to music, read books, draw, talk to others about how you are feeling, and mainly taking your mind off what you are depressed about. Sports sometimes help people take out feelings. If you are feeling angry about something relating to your depression try doing something in a sport that is clean, but will take out your emotions.
life live to the fullest go do something out of the ordinary if you like someone and haven't told them yet then it's time to grab your canines and start speaking your danm mind and not to make a Yolo reference but you only got one danm life to live don't waste it away on depression from a temporary problem whatever it is and don't stop till you are satisfied once agian
Surround your self with people who care and will listen people that wont just zone out when u talk. Even thou ur sad u dont trust me dont want to be alone thats when u think and thinking (over thinking) is super bad for u. Just find somone too tell everything to somone who cares and will love u no matter what :) good luck stay strong <333
Lopez, I play (and teach) tennis and over the years I have been asked this question by students, mostly teenagers. I remind them that being a teenager often can be full of ups and downs. you are no longer a little kid but maybe not exactly an adult either. your body (and mind) is changing and you have school and a lot of other things going on. you are not alone! you have people who love you, who care about you, who need you. I have learned that by living one day at a time, I am ok..usually great! enjoy life, celebrate life by being the best person you can be.. honest, helpful, hardworking, faithful, loving, caring, respectful, and on and on. reach out to that person around you who needs a helping hand, a word of encouragement, and you will be helping yourself also. also, there are many people out there who you can go to who will discuss depression or any issue you may have. they will gladly do so and in total confidence. they want to be there for you. one of many things I learned in my almost 50 years of tennis is to never give up. do the best you can every day at whatever you do and life just has a way of falling into place. most of all remember; you are loved and we all want you to have an awesome life! from the bottom of my heart, I hope telling you these things help YOU...;-) stay safe and enjoy the summer.
that's a tough one! are you certain it is depression? or is it a transient sadness that stays for a few days to a week or more? that inconsistent kind of being " down in the dumps" is a kind of normal,passing sadness. if have really have clinical depression, (which only a qualified mental health professional can diagnose) you will, most likely have long lasting feelings of hopelessness and a profound lack of interest and motivation.to rid yourself of these feelings, you will need counseling or therapy from people that have made careers in the field of mental health. most places,cities or towns,have clinics you can visit without cost to you. check it out sweetie, I know it really changed my life for the better. later.....
Talk to someone about it. It might be hard but in the end it will mean the world to you. True friends and family will help you through it and you'll feel so much better and so loved, you'll be more confident too. I know when you're depressed you don't want to do anything and you just want to stay in bed all day and its not because you're lazy it's because you're too depressed to go anywhere and you don't wanna do things, but after you talk to someone it'll be so much better. You really miss alot when you're depressed. Go out and live life the way you want to :) hope you feel better. Stay strong. <3
