1.Hair in ponytail combed very neatly and straight back or hair worn down but kept very neatly in place with bangs and hairspray if possible (don't cut bangs if you don't have them ready)
2. Make-up-not much. It was the others that wore too much make up. Some mascara, they used powder on their faces, and wore lipstick. A tiny bit of lipstick was used for a little blush.
3. Clothes-ironed white shirt with a cardigan button up sweater worn over the shirt, a FULL shirt (no pencil skirts, the bad girls word those ) shirt tucked in. They sore flat shoes which were polished shiny. Everything very neat, clean, shiny, ironed, hair combed back perfect , lipstick and mascara and powder only, and a nice sweet necklace like a gold heart necklace.
I live in the town the book was written in and so lived here during that time. (Tulsa)

I had just moved from St.Louis my senior year and we dressed differently there. I was shocked to see how they dressed because it was expensive and we didn't have that kind of money so no, my sister and I sewed our own clothes.

It was awful. I couldn't figure out what was going on. The rudest kids on Earth were there bit there were the other groups too. I made 2 really good friends.
