How do I tell my boyfriend he needs to grow up?

I love him but sometimes he is just so immature. I love that he is fun to be around but sometimes he acts like he's 12, and can be really rude. He's 16 and he needs to realise that he needs to be serious sometimes. I've asked him but he does it for about a week then goes back to his immaturity again.

A 16 year old guy and immaturity.....they walk hand in hand through the colorful fields filled with wildflowers......and usually the immaturity sticks around for quite sometime.......you really shouldn't be trying to change people........

You will have to tell the truth that he has to be more serious about your relationship If he's doesn't then you should leave him.

Maybe you should get a different boyfriend since you're trying to change yours right now -.- My boyfriend was "immature" and fun loving but his ex changed him and just ruined him.

I love him, i don't want a different boyfriend. I love the fact that he's fun loving. It's great but he just needs to act his age every now and then.

Boys never grow up! They never act their age! Mine is 57 & sometimes acts like he's 10!
If you keep harping at him, he's going to change & you're not gonna like it!
leave him alone, he's still a kid!

You and your bf are growing at different rates in different directions. That is reason enough to separate and still be friendly. So just do it without drama or an audience, and without looking back.

Well he's my best friend and my boyfriend. I love him to the moon and back, i'd rather be with then without him so i'll just stick with him. Hey, it can't hurt right/

maybe your just too mature? I really am not trying to be rude but when exactly does a 16 year old need to be mature? if your embarrassed by it then you should just dump him before you change him into a different person

You can't. Guys take longer to mature than girls and the fact that he's 16 makes him REALLY behind. I'd date someone older so they have time to catch up

Accept who he is or move on. The biggest problem for couples is one trying to change the other. Sorry, it's just the way life is.

If he isn't mature enough for you, just find someone who is! It doesn't sound like he's going to change, to me .

Just tell him and he'll try. You know some guys do that because they like giving their girlfriends a hard time cause they love them... or it's just his preset nature.
P.S. He sounds perfect for you. You act mature he doesn't (opposites attract). :)
