iin forestry what is the best way to remove a hung tree ?

Climb the tree it's hung in with a chain saw on your belt.

I'm 66 years old( don't think I'll be climbing 30 ft trees without low lying limbs

Can you cut down another tree and hit it? Cut down the tree it hung up in, even if it's dangerous? Undercut the hung up tree a few times? Too bad I can't see it, I'd have a better idea about how to get it down. While cutting wood I've hung up a tree or two.

Unfortunately none of those methods will work. The hung tree is a good cherry that I don't want to cut into small pieces so undercutting is not desirable; the two trees are the biggest in. The area so no other trees can be dropped; & the good tree is a very desirable one and fellig it would probably kill me!

Got any friends with 12,000 pound wiches? Winch the bottom of the tree away from the tree it's hung in, will damage the ground but you'll have it down.

That sounds like the best idea yet. Why do you say 12,000 lbs. ? Would a smaller one work?
