When there are is than one divinity in a religion (ex: the Greek religion) the "g" is lower case. Their names, however, will be capitalized. Ex: Zeus, Poseidon, etc... In the case of the Christian divinity Christ/God, there is only one of Him (even if he is divided into three parts (Holy Ghost, Jesus and God). Oh, and that's just how the most influential religious community roles, apparently. Hope that helped.
Well, because there are two general types of religions: polytheism, which is believing that there are from several to countless gods, and monotheism, which is believing that there is just one god. What is actually true and whether there even are gods at all we probably will never know scientifically. So yeah...
Man creates many Gods, but only God creates man. The one true God is the one who made man, who caused us to think morally, and who asks of us moral lives. Man creates lesser gods so as to drown out the moral requirements and the worship of the one true God.

Wow your questions almost reflects this Bible verse: 1Cor 8:5-6 "?For even though there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,”?there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and we through him. (NWT)
There is only one true God! All of the gods of this world were created by Lucifer In order to mimic what God is. Isaiah 14:12-14 KJV How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Describing something as a "god" does not mean you believe it to be a divine being. The vast majority of Old Testament Scriptures which speak of gods are speaking of false gods, those who claim to be gods but are not. There is only one God. There are false gods and those who pretend to be gods, but there is only one God. Read more: http://www.gotquestions.org/polytheism.html#ixzz2Tbbl79y4

Because people will always create gods in an attempt to gain power. Its easy to make something and then declare that it is a god of something. However in the end there is only one true God because there is only one being who truly deserves the title of God. All the other gods are just constructs of humanity who have been given that title by humans.
