It's about a woman dying of cancer. It was made in the 70's. Debra Winger is in it. It rips your heart out.

Congrats on HOF, both of you! Well deserved. :)

Indeed, Witte. I made the mistake of seeing it with friends on New Year's eve just before we went out to a party. We were all so depressed by the time it finished that we went home and watched something inane on TV.

Thanks Mom, but I'm surprised that you're not there. You certainly should be.
Report as
Is too depressing for an eagle to watch?
Report as
Awww, Dodgy, wow. Nah, I've only ever been there once. How nice of you to think that. You are welcome.

To you as well, ynp. Pretty sure I saw you there.

Yep; thank goodness for the "Docu-end" where they show the survivors.

I was a very well made movie. Ralph Fiennes character was quite disturbing - which it was supposed to be; but I felt repulsed when his character was on screen.
Report as
same here; he did an awesome acting job with that character! He's a good actor overall, and sexy!(not in THAT!)). Like his brother also.
Making the movie and researching the background was also what prodded Spielberg to do the Witness films of all Holocaust survivors he could possibly get to tell their story and record it.. forgot how many thousands he eventually got.
btw, here's factoid for Dodgy, movie was based on book written by an Australian; . Thomas Kenneally, Shindler's Ark. Did not know that 'till just now when I googled it.
