What is a good, small dog breed that is pet/child friendly?

Doesn't need much exercise and is good with apartments.

I think practically all dogs need plenty of exercise. I think if you can't take it out much then it should at least have a decent sized garden to play in. However, dogs with small legs don't need as much exercise as they can get tired quick but be careful as small dogs can be quite nasty (not all though!)

Boston terriors are a good one. They are very energetic and easy to train. Very friendly, I have one and absolutely love it. They are great dogs for a family.

Tea-Cup Yorkies , they can be up to $1,000 but they are really small and you don't need to exercise them because they are less than 1/2 foot
They are expensive but its worth it

I have a small dog myself. He is a dachsund mix. A korgie would also be good for a household with children in it.
